Ten Months

We are in double digits, people!

Seriously, Mr. Nugget, where has the time gone? I know I sound like a broken record every month, but it is mind-blowing how quickly life has been passing lately.

Everyday I watch you explore new things and try to figure them out. You are totally enjoying this new found freedom with crawling. It's no longer an army crawl, but full out crawling all over the place. Any chance you have, you pull yourself up. I get the giggles watching you smile with such accomplishment when you succeed at standing. The big thing this month is you are such a foodie! You have three meals a day along with your bottles. There has yet to be something that you won't eat. I do have to be careful and make sure you eat veggies before I put any other goodies on your tray because you will pick through and find the other stuff and not eat the veggies!
Fruits are still your favorite, but cheese quesadillas are a close second! You "talk" a lot but it's mostly dadadadadada all day long! When you wake up in the middle of the night I can hear you talking to yourself and then you go back to sleep. Makes me smile every time. You sleep from 7p-6/6:30am on most nights. Lately you go to bed a little later, but that wake time remains the same. Thank goodness we are morning people over here! some updates from last month are:

We love you, nugget. Our hearts are full of so much joy being your parents. We sure are lucky to have you.

Geronimo Park

We have a great neighborhood park. Wesley and I took the nugget to check it out yesterday after lunch. It is in a very pretty wooded area and has a small creek that runs through it, so Cash dipped his toes in to test the water. He then had a good time swinging, sliding and riding the motorcycle. With the weather becoming more and more like fall, and Cash becoming more and more mobile, I think we will be spending more afternoons there. Later in the afternoon, Cash wanted more freedom than our living room, so I put down a blanket in the back yard and let Cash roam free. He loved it! And so did the puppies!

The mornings are spent running around the house trying to get out the door. This morning was a little slower paced so wesley unloaded the dishwasher with a little help from Cash.

During bath time I have noticed that Cash's little whale tub is getting more and more cramped. I cannot believe that he once was so small that he barely reached end to end. Tonight was his first time in the bathtub. Dede bought him the cutest frog spout cover and Wesley found a Sesame Street bath no-slip mat and we were set. Cash had a really good time. He crawls around and plays until the water is so cold!

Before bed tonight, we opened some mail. The Amarillo crew sent Cash a goody box filled with new clothes. He needed them, too. He is growing out of most outfits we have, plus the weather is a little cooler now. Cash enjoyed unwrapping them and playing with the box!

Lately Cash is not having much fun in his car seat. He whines the entire time he is in it. It's a high-pitch fussy whine. So annoying not to mention distracting while driving. My backseat headrests do not allow anything to attach to them, so mirrors or car activities have not been an option... Until now. I have mentioned this many times to Wes and one day he had a solution. Some PVC pipes, glue and a few minutes working in the garage and Cash has a little entertainment center. And I'm not sweating and throwing things in the back seat for Cash to use or chew. It's a win/win.

A weekend of firsts (lots of pics)

Cash had a full weekend. some first for him were:

- his first birthday party! Jackson turned 2 and Cash had a great time celebrating with all the kiddos there
- Eating Pancakes
- Eating Mac n Cheese.... LOVED
- eating mandarin oranges. I couldn't cut them fast enough!
- Meeting Mason and Reagan
- Driving his slug bug bouncy car.
- trying birthday cake icing- just a little! Could not gage whether he liked it or not
- Enjoying the first stroller ride that required a blanket!


Saturday after the birthday party, we went to McQueeny to see Papa Turk. Moms and Pops were in town and we enjoyed each others company and a delicious salmon and shrimp dinner.

Sunday, we enjoyed the rain and played inside. Sunday morning cash helped me cook pancakes and eggs for Wes's breakfast. He enjoyed them as well!!
