Mid December we took Cash to Grapevine to stay at the Gaylord and see all of the beautiful Christmas lights and tour the ICE exhibit. We arrived late Thursday and decided to head straight to the room. Our view was pretty cool!
Cash wanted to "unpack" his Octonauts. The Grapevine Aquarium had the Octonaut characters for a meet and greet on Saturday, so I let Cash bring all of his toys.
We then headed to bed to get ready for the next day!
Friday we decorated gingerbread snowmen and met Gingy from Shrek. Cash was very excited and hugged Gingy for a long time.
We then had lunch and a quick nap before having milk and cookies with Mrs. Claus! They each received a copy of Frosty the Snowman to read along. I didn't realize that Frosy melted when someone locked him in a greenhouse.... kinda weird for a children's book.
After story time we headed to the ICE exhibit! They arent kidding when they say its cold. The room is kept a 9 degrees! The sculptures were amazing! Cash was kinda into it. The air system and audio of the narrator was really loud. Cash is sensitive to loud noises so he kept his hands on his ears most of the time.
These slides were so fun! Cash wouldnt ride down with me, so I went by myself!.
At the end of the exhibit there was a tubing section. Cash wanted to slide down them, so Wes bought a pass. One time down and Cash was OVER it. I had a good time, though.
Friday night we headed to Main St. in Grapevine to have dinner and see more lights. It is the cutest place! We all had a good time.
Can you tell Cash was over taking pictures?! Hahaha!
Saturday we checked out and headed to Cameron and Jenny's house. On the way, we stopped at the aquarium to see the Octonauts!!!!
Cash loved it! And the aquarium is really nice! Next up, we met up with Wesley's cousin, Kayci and her kids. We have yet to meet her youngest, Myra. Isn't she adorable?!
Here is the whole crew.
Sunday, before we hit the road, Jenny took us to cheer on the Dallas Marathon runners. The course went through their neighborhood. It was really cool to see everyone running. I have never been a spectator before, but always appreciated people cheering on the races I ran. Cash obviously was having a blast...
A full weekend that we will have to repeat every year! Next time, Walker will be with us and he will love it, too!
