A wet weekend

Friday we had the neighbors over for some slip n slide and pool fun. We ordered pizza and the adults hung out and talked. It was nice to get everyone together. These 8 kids get along relatively well and it's always fun to get together. Saturday after swim lessons, cash got to eat lunch with Greyson and Christi. He is such a big boy! His first lunch date with his buddy.

After nap, the neighborhood hit up the lake. The Greens took out their boat so two families were with them and we had the Rauhuts with us. We beached and played and ended the night at Ski Shores for dinner.

This morning we woke up and had donuts before heading to the park. When we were done playing, we took the new ranger out for a ride around the block. If you haven't noticed, Cash is into showing his mad face

Then we did some chalk art until lunch time.

Once the kids were up, we went to watch Amy and April do one of their kids concerts. They were playing at the Midtown Trailer park, which was really cool and had fun food options. The kids had fun watching and dancing. Walker especially loved the little tambourines they set out for the kids.

It was HOT so we had some cold watermelon and pineapple when we got home.

Walker 22 months

If you haven't noticed, I can't keep track of how old Walker is. I may have two other posts titled Walker 22 months. <sigh>

This month, I looked over and Walker looks even more grown up. He is very independent and strong willed. He knows what we wants!!!! We are in the throes of the terrible twos and are just holding on for dear life. I have to admit that Walker is still such a sweetie in between the temper tantrums. He loves to hug and kiss people goodbye and if you leave the house and he doesn't get to watch you drive off and wave goodbye, he is one mad guy!

Walker loves to color and organize things. Although you may argue with me about the organizing if you see our house these days. But Walker makes sense of his messes in his own way. He also has discovered the app Endless Alphabet and is getting pretty good at it.

I can't really tell if Walker has learned more words this month, but he babbles and babbles. Cash was definitely not verbal at this age. Walker loves to point at the planes in the sky and say, "paaaaaaaNnnneeeE!" He likes to emphasize when he is excited.  He also says," here you go", albeit rather smashed together, but im pretty sure that's what he says. Ha!

Walker also likes to point us out in pictures. He will walk around at pictures and say our names. I even get the occasional, "mama" when he goes through my InStyle magazines. Hey... I'll take it!

We love you Mr. Walker!!!  You have such spunk that I almost laugh every time you throw a fit. Your mad face is something to be reckoned with, but I may have an idea of where you get it from. ;) I love you so so much!!!

Cold springs 2015

I say every year this is one of my favorite trips, but I can now say that it's the boys's favorite, too! They had a great time and played played played. We rented a different trailer this year and it worked out well.

The trailer while we were driving. It expanded once we got set up at the river.

Cash had his bunk bed. We will have to upgrade his bed to a bunk bed sometime. He is obsessed with them.

On our way down, we changed into PJs and watched tv. Cash wanted a picture of his mad face.

Here is Walkie's mad face but he wasn't pretending.

Friday we woke up and went on a walk and a bike ride. We went too far and ended up having boys on our shoulders carrying a bike on the way back. Cash is really getting into his bike and going further and further with his feet on the pegs.

JJ, Pam's cousin on her moms side, came over when we got back and we had lunch.

And rode bikes.

Group picture Saturday.

Giving goodbye kisses to Hadley.

The boys passed out on the way home.

Until next year!!!

Edited to add:::

We took the boys with us when we floated the river.  Let's say the first hour, they were "warming up to it". But towards the end , they did enjoy it and yelled cowabunga when we hit some Rapids.

Getting ready-

Cash hates sunscreen.

Kisses

I forgot to share this picture. While Cash was in his swim lesson on Saturday, Walker passed the time by giving himself kisses.

Alabama

There is a benefit every year down by Wesleys hometown. We have never been before, but this year the headliner was Alabama. We definitely wanted to go once that was announced. It was this past weekend and we went with the Shrouts. It was a lot of fun and of course, Alabama was amazing.

I went down Saturday and headed back this morning. After nap time, we hit up the pool and sprinklers in our backyard.

Walker is starting to sit on the potty and go to the bathroom but it's random and who knows if we will start potty training soon, but he seems really interested.

Another weekend full of fun and memories.

Lady A

For Amy and April's birthday we went to see Lady Antebellum at the 360  amphitheater. It was pretty cool and the weather was so nice.

Where does the time go?

I know these pictures are random and not very good, but I was watching the boys play the other day after work. When did they turn into such big boys?! Cash looks 5 and Walker has an attitude of a teenager ;).

I know the days of them running to hug me will be over before I know it. I know Walker will stop calling me Maw one day (hopefully sooner than later-lol). I know Cash will stop asking to sleep with me when Wes is gone because he knows I get a little scared when Wes isn't there. I know that Walker will stop giving me kisses every time he hugs me. I know that Cash will one day stop obsessing over Ninja Rurtles and start obsessing over girls (help me now!). I know that both boys will have their own friends and their own secrets that they won't tell me.  I know that one day I will probably have to beg them to come home to visit, but until then...  I'm just trying to soak up these days as much as I can. And when those days happen, I will probably cry the ugly cry that you try to save for when you are all alone- haha!!
