Some new food
Cash enjoyed nibbling on some fried rice, mangos and black olives this weekend. I'm becoming more comfortable giving Cash non-puréed food. He mainly uses his little pincer grip, but sometimes he just grabs an entire handful and shovels it in!

Laying low
We have been doing just that week. Knowing Cash has his ear surgery scheduled for today, I wanted him to have a fun, but normal week. This morning we had to check in at 6:00am. I was very nervous about how Cash would behave since he had to be fasting, but he was amazing. The nurses took him back by 7:00 am and then we went to the post-op area. By 7:15-ish we were already talking to his doctor. The surgery was THAT FAST!
Cash was crying by the time he was back with us, but a bottle was all he needed. He was laughing by the time we were in the car on the way home and we pulled into our garage by 8:25.
Cash has been his usual funny self today. I hope this weekend goes as smoothly as today.

Man down!
Or in this case, baby down. Cash woke up with a fever in the wee morning hours Tuesday. He was up and down all night. Dede took him to the dr to rule out another ear infection and the pediatrician said he might be showing beginning signs of a virus. Little nugget slept all day long. When I got home, I immediately knew he was sick. He didn't pick his head up from Dede's shoulder when I walked in the door. I took him in my arms to give him a big hug and he threw up all over me. Welcome home!!! before I made it to the kitchen, he threw up again. After a call to the dr's office, we just watched for the fever to return and gave Cash some pedialyte. He just snuggled and let me rock him, which he never ever does. I selfishly was cherishing him letting me hold and snuggle with him because he is just growing so quickly that I don't remember the last time he slept on my chest. We spent the evening quietly rocking in his room while the puppies would occasionally come to check on us. This morning it seemed like he was on his way back to normal. Keep your fingers crossed!

Cold Springs
Sweet sweet memories were made this weekend. We met some of Wesley's family at their place in Cold Springs right outside of Leakey. Aunt Kim, Uncle Dean, Pam, baby Harper, Aunt Missy and Donnie were there celebrating with their oldest friends summer birthdays. Cash was shy at first, but as soon as he saw Harper, his eyes lit up! We spent the weekend watching the nuggets play, hanging out in the river and eating/drinking the day away. Cash really loves the water and I can't wait to start taking him to Cold Springs more often. Kim and Missy grew up going and so they have kept the tradition going with their kids. And now that a new generation is here, we want to continue making those memories. I can't think of a better way to spend the weekend.

Katie and Joe!
Katie and Joe came in town on Sunday and we were very excited to see them. I think the last time they were in town was back in March. They were both surprised to see how much Cash has grown! Dede watched Cash while we had a double date night at the movies on their last day here. The Dark Knight Rises does not disappoint...So. Good.
The only draw back to having company is that their stay is never long enough. Katie and Joe headed out early this morning and we miss them already. Hurry back!!!! Love you both so much!
